{#emotions_dlg.blushing}Thanks, Lilysmom! I appreciate that. And you're not dense, not at all. No one should have to go through these twists and turns to use this website.

One of the best lessons I learned in systems analysis and programming was to take a problem and "draw a picture" breaking it down into steps (whether with words, a diagram, or an actual image). I try my best to do that, but I'm not always successful.

As I said, sidsmom has done a great service to other posters by taking the time to capture the code and explain it whenever anyone asks. With luck, eventually QVC will bring their website out of antiquity so we don't need to use the code or shortcuts.

Re: Ipad Help on Making Paragraphs Pls

I know, dooBdoo....it's a PITA. I used to write code back in the 80's (back in the dinosaur age & 5" floppy disks!!), so some of this is coming back. It's fun to play & figure it out. If I learn today & QVC fixes tomorrow, at least I've learned something new, yes? Smiley Happy

Guess I did something wrong. My paragraphs didn't even appear. <> Trying again.

Re: Ipad Help on Making Paragraphs Pls

Thank you for the information!

I am practicing. I hate the small print and inability to make paragraphs!

Re: Ipad Help on Making Paragraphs Pls

Thanks again to all who have given tips. I agree, none of us should have to learn how to do this. It's crazy. I will practice in the near future on my iPad just so that I can avoid creating any never-ending paragraphs, but I'm mainly going to stick to my PC when on this forum.

Forgive me- This has been so helpful, however, I don't understand the part about how to set up the shortcuts on the keyboard

Re: Ipad Help on Making Paragraphs Pls

JackieBlue, This article explains shortcuts better than I could. In the case of this thread topic, you'd simply make the "Phrase" the HTML code (remember to remove the "$" after the first "<" in sidsmom's examples) and the "Shortcut" can be your choice. You can always go back in and edit:

"How to Create an iPad Keyboard Shortcut

iPad Keyboard Shortcut -

Did you know you can create a keyboard shortcut for your iPad? A shortcut allows you to type an abbreviation like "idk" and have it replaced by a longer phrase like "I don't know". This is great if you constantly find yourself typing the same phrases over and over again and want to save time hunting and pecking about the iPad keyboard.

Keyboard shortcuts on the iPad work in the same way as the Auto-Correct feature. You simply type out the shortcut and the iPad will automatically replace it with the whole phrase.

If you haven't followed along with this entire guide, you can get to the keyboard shortcuts by going to your iPad settings, choosing general settings from the left-side menu and then choosing keyboard settings. From this screen, you can add a shortcut by scrolling all the way down and choosing "Add New Shortcut..." from the bottom of the list.

When adding a new keyboard shortcut on the iPad, first type in the complete phrase and then the shortcut or abbreviation you want to use for the phrase. Once you have the phrase and the shortcut typed into the appropriate spots, tap the save button in the upper-right corner.

That's it! You can put in multiple shortcuts, so all of your common phrases could have an abbreviation associated with them."
