My most recent laptop bit the dust and I am considering getting a Mac but then I realized I rarely used my laptop. I am always using my I Pad. I recently found out I can even print off of it using the HP print App so I am tryng to justify purchasing another laptop. Am I missing something?

I love my ipad but it does not replace a computer (for me, anyway). If you only surf the net, play games and/or use it as a reader then an ipad is sufficient. However, if you regularly work with documents, databases, create spreadsheets, etc., then I think you need a real computer.

I could never have only an iPad. A lot depends on how you use a computer.

I use an iPad 2 and a Mini w RD at the moment, but neither are enough for some of the fine/performing arts applications that I need sometimes. The apps are getting better all the time, but not quite there yet.

I have an ipad mini and a MacBook air, I use them for different tasks. I surf the web, check facebook, etc on ipad, but pay bills, etc. on laptop.

I have iPad and MacBook Air. Same with everyone else, I do different things on both. Plus I store all of my backups and photos from both the iPad and iPhone on the Mac. I also think it's easier to manage all of my music in iTunes on the Mac, than doing that on the iPad.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. The sizes range from 11 inches to 15 inches. So if you really want something small and portable, get either the 11 or 13 inch MacBook.

I have both and the IPad would go out the door WAAAAAAAY before the Mac Book Air! I've had a computer since 1982 and this thing is THE BEST ever! SO light and so fast and SO easy to use!

Techie son just told me that the rumored iPad Pro may (rumor) run the mac OS rather than the iPad iOS, and if that is so, I will definitely prefer that to the iPads that will be using iOS, so I may just wait for a while.......
