Google is your friend.

There are many differences between the iPhone and Android smartphones. They have a different operating system so different apps are available for the different phones.

I-phones and android phones are both smart phones. Smart phones are phones that have applications and various programs like computers that you can download onto your phone and have the ability to connect to the internet. I-phones and android phones have different operating systems, but work the same way.

One costs hundreds of $$$$ more than the other. Some prefer one over the other for whatever reason. I myself prefer the cheaper of the 2, which would be the Android system. As someone else suggested to you, google is your friend.

Just remember that something advertised simply as a "smartphone", without either the words iPhone or Android along with it, isn't very....smart. The cheap "smartphones" sold from Tracfone do not do all of the things iPhones or Android phones do. I had two Tracfones - "smartphone" that really wasn't, which frustrated the heck out of me, and the Samsung Centura, a very basic Android phone. It was just "okay" - until it bricked with its first system update. I bought an iPhone, which I love. It all depends on what you'd like to be able to do with it and how much you want to spend.

I phone and andrioid phones have different operating systems and interact with your computer differerently.

There are many versions of the Iphone the older ones are free and the newer ones $$$ depending on your carrier, many phones made by IG and motorola are andrioud phones.

Oh and dont forget the old blackberries the forerunner of most smart phones

I started out with a non android "smart" phone but it was not very smart at all so I have now stepped up to an android smart phone. Would I love to have an i phone - sure, but I can not justify the high cost just for what is really just a toy - something to play with. So - - I am very content with my LG android smartphone at a much much lower cost. You have to balance your needs/wants from your phone against the costs, and your budget. What everyone wants/needs is individual.

PS - even though we now have a android phone we find we tend to use DH's Samsung 8" tablet for things like taking and sending pictures, which was a main reason why we wanted a smart phone.

I like my Android. I have a smart phone. SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 3. I also have Nexxus 7 Tablet, also Android.

I like:

1. Play store... many many many Apps are free

2. Android is an open system and not controlled by APPLE which is rather closed to independent developers. That make some things less expensive and more creative.

3. I just like Samsung

MY DAUGHTERS HAVE APPLE PRODUCTS. OKAY, BUT I AM HAPPY WITH WHAT I HAVE.

Now some of the stylish [LINK REMOVED] I think there is no difference between the two, Android is the smartphone.

I would never buy an "off" band phone, I had an HTC phone and it was nothing but trouble

Usedtobeoxox, if you look at the posting history all 5 of the "kohgrug" posts are attempts to advertise and link us to a website in China.

I won't copy the link or provide the name of the site, but I think all "kohgrug's" posts should be reported as inappropriate and the embedded links avoided. With luck, Webbie will take notice and remove the posts and the user's access.

Unfortunately, the person behind this "new" nickname has been doing this repeatedly, returning with a new name (I suppose the previous names have been banned). I do wish this weren't so easy for these scam artists, because some of the websites they link to are deemed highly dangerous by Web of Trust (phishing, I.D. theft, etc.).
