I am thinking of upgrading my old Ipad since it won't do anymore updates. Anyway does anyone know if there is going to be a new Ipad coming out in 2019? I am not looking for a Ipad pro, just the basic one. Thanks in advanced.

@plc123. About 3 years ago when I started having trouble with my iPad 2, I bought a Samsung S2 tablet, about the same size as my iPad, and have never looked back. Of course it uses the Android OS which I easily adjusted to, and it has an expandable memory so I'll never outgrow it. I like it so much better than the iPad.

I just got the 2018 version to replace my IPad Air which like yours wouldn’t do updates I also wanted to increase to 128gb. This is not the Pro, which I really didn’t need. I got it on ?Amazon for a really good price.

IMO, a device that can be upgraded to have increased storage capacity would be ideal!

I agree with @QVCkitty1 as I bought two of the new 2018 iPads in the 128gb and am very happy with them. I thought of the newest iPad Pro but these do all I need. I did the newest update on both and it was no problem.
Good luck finding what you want.

Thank you so much for answering. I was just afraid if i buy the one they have out now that a new one will come out the next day. That is always my luck!!

A hint for anyone that doesn’t like the Icons that you open on the screen of your iPad “to go on the bottom of the home screen” as it saves them there after the 12.1.1 update. Here is how to do it:
Go to Settings, General, scroll down to Multitasking and Dock.
I clicked on this and turned them all off. This stopped the multiple apps from appearing. I don’t use any of the settings listed and am glad I shut all these off.
Another hint after updating to 12.1.1 OS is to go into Notifications and go under each App and click off what ones you don’t want popping up all the time. You need to turn off “each one” . It is annoying as well as it can run your battery down also. I shut all my notifications off. It will show Off under each App when you do this. It will take a few minutes to do each one but is worth it.
Just a few hints if any of you want to check these out. ![]()

I have been working with various computers since 1967 so I’m not exactly a “newbie”.
This is only a fact, not bragging. I’ve been retired for 21 years now.
I have used Samsung and other Android tablets for years, mainly to play games. I never had one that was able to apply updates; seems like the manufacturers had a plot to make me buy new equipment rather than update whatever model I was using. I never found them to be very useful for browsing or shopping. The small amount of RAM seemed to preclude a smooth operating experience.
When I switched to iPads about 18 months ago I was shocked to find that every update offered was easily applied and I was not required to buy a new model to get new features.
Today I rarely ever turn on my laptop since it is such an enjoyable experience to shop with the iPad. I pay all my bills and download and read the daily newspaper with it. I even stopped using dedicated e-readers also since Apple and iPad make it so enjoyable for reading. Maintaining my rather large library on it is easier and quicker to do than using my several Kindles.
I do not have any Apple stock and am not being paid for this endorsement.
By by the way I still use my Samsung to play games.
