IPAD QUESTION?

I have an old mni ipad ,that I cannot update anymore. I have never been hacked on an apple ipad or phone, but I am curious as if any of you know if it is safe to use? I mean I won't pay bills on it, but I do like to go on facebook and check mail. TIA

Mine is now 5 yrs old. I could not download the last update. I think that's ridiculous that when my iPad was 4 yrs old I could no longer update. I won't be buying another iPad.

I still use mine to play Candy Crush, Surf the Web, Check Email. I guess since I cannot get updates maybe I should not use it for shopping. Only did that when I used it when we were traveling. Guess I will have to order things on DH laptop while traveling.

I understand how you feel, but even laptops get that way. It is frustrating but Apple makes the best tablets on the market. I have never heard of anyone getting hacked on an Apple. I personally am fed up with Microsoft. I am thinking my next laptop will be a Mac.

I would think it would be fine if you don’t download any new apps any more. My thinking on that is, apps you already have, have been proven to be safe and vetted by Apple up to the last updates. So if you just do what you’ve been doing with no changes, I think it would be fine for routine tasks on long-used apps.

Turning on device encryption is easy and takes just one minute. Here's how you do it.

1. Go to the Settings on your iPhone.

2. Go to Touch ID & Passcode.

3. Select the Turn Passcode On option if it's not already. From there, you will be able to set either a strong six-digit or longer numerical passcode, or alphanumeric password.
