DH accidentally the screen on my Fire 8 so I just ordered a Fire 10.  Before I placed my order I called Amazon and asked if they could give me a discount (they gave me 15%).  Best part is it will be here in two days!  I love Amazon and always order directly from them, no third party sellers for me!

Also a Prime member, and plan to continue indefinitely.  Absolutely no complaints. Their service and their customer service are really beyond compare. Service for other onlines to strive for.

Yeah, they are great and I shop there sometimes.  Keep in mind, the founder Jeff, Bezos who is now richer than Buffet, he treats his employees horrible, underpaid, overworked and no benefits, of course.  Greed is so ugly.  I do shop there sometimes, but I try to support other retailers when I can.

I don't know about their pay, but I Googled benefits and they sound very good.  Even part-time employees get medical and dental benefits.  Insurance begins on the first day of employment.  They have a 401k plan with a company match.

I'm curious.  How and why did you get that 15% discount?

I always wonder where these stores that overpay, underwork and offer every benefit known to mankind to their workers are located. How do they stay in business? People smear Walmart, Amazon, and other successful companies with the same allegations, but I don't really see them doing anything different than every other retailer does.

I love Amazon and have no complaints about them. They're the gold standard in businesses these days as far as I'm concerned.

As a consumer, I love Amazon. But I admit it isn't without some guilt because Amazon is the land of Chinese made goods...and they are driving more companies to sell Chinese products.

The internet is chock full of reports about the poor work conditions at the warehouses, extreme pressure on employees, mandatory long hours 10-12 hrs. a day, lunch breaks only minutes long, and of course it is hard physical labor where one carries heavy objects and walks 8-12 miles a day.  It seems to me this kind of work (the shelf picking)  should be done by robots.

I've only met a handful of people who worked at Amazon warehouses, and they describe the conditions as extremely grueling and unpleasant, but they were there as seasonal workers and did the jobs there because the pay was higher than other seasonal work they could find.
