I've been having some weird problems using my computer lately. From what I have observed, they seem to have to do with my mouse. Don't know whether it's a hardware issue, or more likely, a possible infection with a virus. I've done a couple of scans with my Norton Internet Security program and with malwarebytes--nothing was found.
My mouse is behaving as though I've double clicked when I've only clicked once. For example, in my Excel spreadsheet, I clicked into a cell to center the content and was put into edit mode, which you wouldn't go into unless you double click. Clicked on another cell to view the formula I had used. Should have only seen it up in the formula bar, but it appeared in the cell. Again, something that should only happen if the cell was double clicked. Finally, I was trying to just move some of my desktop icons around, and four times in a row, each one opened. Obviously since I did not double click, that shouldn't have happend.
If I have malware, are there some other free programs anyone could suggest that I could download to search for the infection? If anyone thinks it's just a problem with my mouse, any suggestions as to how to fix it? Thanks for any help!!!
