Still working on this issue.  My provider is AT&T.

You may want to call AT&T and ask them to help?

It seems you tablet is having a problem finding a place on the network. A router can only manage Y amount of devices. It could be fill. If you have used the router for 3-5 years, You may need an upgrade.

Try connecting your tablet close to the router. Fire devices can be a pain.

Sometimes a device will have a hard time deciding which band to connect on a router. I give each band a unique name.

I purchased two of them, and set them both up, no problems.  Alot bang for the buck. I have one problem that hopefully someone can help me with.   When it is on and than automatically the screen goes dark, you have to press the button to bring the screen back.  When I do this, it shows the homepage BUT IT IS VERY VERY DARK, and each and every time I have to go to SETTINGS AND SLIDE THE BRIGHTNESS TO 100PERCENT, WHY DOES IT KEEP SLIDING BACK TO A LOW NUMBER WHEN THE SCREEN GOES DARK AND HOW TO I FIX THIS?  Thanks

Try going into your settings to change the screen resolution ... If you still have trouble call your internet provider. It might be your connection.

When I press the button after it gets dark, how do I get rid of the game on the lock screen?  Or is that an ad?

You will see a ad everytime you turn on or wake yout tablet up. If you want to get rid of it  you can call Amazon but, you have to pay a little more to do that. I think of it as a screen saver Just swipe and it will go away.

Re: Help with Amazon Fire 10 setup

Resetting your router by unplugging it, leaving it unplugged for 30 seconds then plugging it back in might help with the connection issue. Routers tend to be quirky little devices that assign bandwidth to certain devices and sometimes they aren't overly happy to accept a new device. Shutting them down and rebooting them tends to refocus them and remind them who's in charge.

Yes, that's what I do...swipe it away.  Now, those notifications sounds every few minutes are grating on me!   I need to disable that somehow.  I know where to do it, but I don't see the option to turn it off completely.

Re: Help with Amazon Fire 10 setup

Thanks everyone for all the help/suggestions.  I spoke with an Amazon tech person this afternoon and we determined my tablet is defective.  Therefore, it is being returned for a replacement.  I do appreciate everyone's feedback.....Janice
