When using my VCR, I put a movie in and say AV in the microphone. It doesn't always understand those letters. Is there a way to use the remote instead or using another command? Frustrated.

Re: Help needed for my smart tv

@frenchie, I don't have a smart tv but you can try this:

Look at your tv remote and see if it has a button called "input"  When you press this input button a screen comes up on your tv screen with choices such as HDMI, TV, and AV.  Navigate to "AV" and press enter and see if that works.

Every device connected to your TV has a input assignment.  It varies from TV to TV but most have HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3, AUX, Antenna, etc.  You need to figure out which connection your VCR is using and select it on your TV's remote's input.

You don't say what brand of smart TV you own, but since you're talking to it, I'm guessing it could be a Fire TV. If that's the case, then pressing the Home button on the remote will bring up the home screen and you can switch inputs one of two ways. The first is to just click down until the available inputs shows up. Option two is to click right at the top of the Home screen to Settings, then click on that, then go down to Inputs, click on that and then click on your AV input.
