They're all compatible with 8.1. If you want to be able to print from a iPad or iPhone, it must be compatible with air print. HP and Epson and the brands that will work. You must also have wireless internet or a wireless network (which is what all home wireless signals are) for it to work.

I swear by my HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer. It is, hands down, THE best printer I have ever owned. We have a variety of devices in our home: Apple laptops, windows laptops and desktops, iPads, iPhones and Android phones. We are all able to use it for printing purposes. I love that I can scan and fax documents. I even bought an additional paper tray to hold additional paper and it can be adjusted for legal size paper. Even though there are five of us using this printer the ink seems to last longer than other printers I've had in the past. HTH
