I'm wondering if there are any HAM radio enthusiasts here.  I'll post in the Sports section as well.

Not me but my BIL does.  He does nothing all day but is constantly on his. He's got tons of $$$$ tied up in it.  He's a lazy butt and is living off the money he took from his Dad's bank account.

My dad did ham for many years.  He had hearing problems and kept the volume high.  A very comfortable background sound.

I have seen news that hams are assisting with communication in disaster zones.  Sound about right to me 🥰

kF8BGH here. Got my technical (first of three licenses you can get) this past May. It involved lots of study for me, as I am 73, hate math and know next to nothing about electricity or electronics. Studied about 2 months before I took the test. Spouse is licensed so that's why I got into it. My area has a noon-time network that we can listen or talk on, 3 days a week. It's a fun hobby and you can put as much a or as little into it as you want.
