Geek Squad - Yeah or Nay, Possible alternatives?

Hi again,

I recently purchased the new HP shown the other day on-air. I would like to uninstall the Mcafee anti-virus and purchase new antivirus protection which I would have the geek squad install. I would especially need their services to transfer all my files from my dead laptop (power cord broke off in the laptop and it is completely dead) to my new laptop.

From the reviews, I have read thus far I gather they are either extremely overpriced, misdiagnose or overdiagnose problems with computers and/or ruin perfectly functioning software. Few and far between I have read good reviews. I guess no service is completely flawless.

Anyone use the Geek Squad services before particularly for either of these services or just in general? What have been your experiences? Do you have any alternative suggestions if you don't care for their services?
