GENERIC Amazon QuickBooks Pro 2024

[ Edited ]

I really want a newer version of QuickBooks desktop! I’m not interested in their online version and realize Intuit quit making the desktop versions. I have Pro 2017 and am worried it won’t work when I upgrade to Windows 11.

I came across a Generic version of QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024 on Amazon that I’m very tempted to purchase. It appears to be working fine for other purchasers, even with Windows 11.

Have any of you purchased this one and how is it working? I’ll post or a photo of the item in a reply.

I have used QuickBooks for years and still do.  Once you are an accountant.....

The attached product is a knockoff sold by some vendor.  It is NOT QuickBooks.

I would not go near it.

@Still Raining I figured so but other reviewers are saying it works good. I'll still probably stay away from it. I hate QB Online and am looking for an older version (but newer than 2017) of the desktop version to use for church bookkeeping that will work with Windows 11. All the Intuit QB products are now so expensive. Hoping to find an authentic QB Desktop somewhere.

Would a church specific software actually more useful to you?  Easier to maneuver?

An out of date software that is no longer supported might have hiccups.

Good luck!

Re: GENERIC Amazon QuickBooks Pro 2024

Our QB online for my employer is only $115 a month for the basic online. No invoicing (although we could) or payroll.

We use it for expenses, bank deposits, and credit card reconciliations, plus generating financial reports only.

That's not crazy expensive for a "do it yourself" accounting software. I'm not sure what they are looking for. Accountants will cost you $15-20,000 a month.

If they hate the online banking link like I do (it does not work!), turn it off and do it all manually.

I do that for them by entering in every invoice, check, bank transaction, and credit card purchase myself and we settle to the penny every month.

It's super simple and probably exactly what you are doing with a desktop only version now.

Every software has gone online now and I would never trust anything that wasn't at this point for my own CYA security and audit issues.

Some alternatives to QB are Freshbooks and Wave if you are really that small. Worth looking into if the $100 a month is above their paygrade.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to keep using my Pro 2017 and hope I don't have to update my computer to Windows 11 for a while. I can keep that computer offline. I do manual entry and manual payroll because it's all very basic.

@Laura14 The $115 per month is still very expensive. This is a small church with between 50-70 people per Sunday so keeping costs down is important.

I'm not going to take a chance on the Generic QuickBooks as tempting as it is.

@LAllyR,  I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but there are listings on eBay for Quickbooks Desktop 2024 in various configurations.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

Re: GENERIC Amazon QuickBooks Pro 2024

@Marp Thanks. I'll check but they are likely the same ones that are on Amazon that I posted above and are not authentic from Intuit since they don't make them any more. I was going to give it a try but from the feedback I better stay away from the unknown.
