Re: Enjoying Today's HP Computer show

Manufacturer's website and Amazon are two of my favorite places to purchase laptops.

Personally, I wouldn't go for this one with only an i3 processor.  I notice that they hid that fact down in the small print.    i3 is the lowest end of the 'i' franchise of Intel processors.

I have a couple of i5 processor laptops and those are fine.  But, wow - I love the i7 and the difference is HUGE.

I just recently (last month) purchased a 15" laptop with current generation i7, all the RAM and HDD I could possibly need, etc for less on Amazon.

Also, keep in mind that if the printer is part of why one would buy this 'deal' you might want to look at what it offers.  I only read briefly, but is it even wireless?  I never saw that and I haven't watched a presentation since I"m not in the market.  Just a thought - it's just another of those 'throw in some more stuff that APPEARS to have value to justify the price'.  Smiley Happy

Re: Enjoying Today's HP Computer show

ITA about 'Classic Shell'.  Do make sure you go to the link Ricki Lynn provided as there are some entities out there that will look much like another one to fool you into - who knows what!

I've been using Classic Shell since Win8.1.    It's great.

One thing that is driving me a bit crazy about Windows10 is that every time it has an update it corrupts my 'Secunia PSI' program, so I have to re-install it.  Fortunately, that doesn't take long but come on MS!  Stop messing up stuff that is on the computer.  I also had to find a new way to get my old Solitaire back after that one big 'Anniversary update'.

Thanks...where is the best place to buy a Hp and where do you go to install the classic shell program.

I buy computers direct from HP or Dell.  If I do not like it, I can sent it back.

You can send back computers to QVC as well.  They have good customer service.

@LexaMom  I don't understand why you need to download Classicshell because you can put your favorite icons that use alot, i.e., google chrome right on the bottom task bar and click on it.  Why is the need for classic shell so important?  I don't understand it.   Thanks.

What' are you using classicshell for?

Oh, sorry!  You're making a W10 menu look like a W7 menu.

I don't even remember what a W7 menu looks like.  LOL!

@RinaRina I never download a new operating system myself from an old operating system it's best to purchase a new computer that already has the new operating system on it.  I have less problems that way! LOL!

Re: Enjoying Today's HP Computer show

i3 processor??  No wonder it's such a good deal.  I have a Toshiba that's probably 8 years old, maybe more.   it has i3.
