We love all three of our Echo devices and now have a problem(that will also affect you if you have a device).  Last night DH tried to select our nightly music (from his Galaxy 7 phone) with the Alexa ap but goggles for Prime Music were missing. So this morning we called Help (overseas call center).  Tech didnt /couldn't help us, so I called Help again and insisted on US based tech. DH talked to her with sand result until we were "disconnected".  Then I sent an email (no response yet). Then we called again and told them they have a big, system side problem.  This time we got a U.S. based supervisory tech.  Bottom line: they didn't know developers changed this last night until 3 or them tried to pull it up on their phones with no success.  Supervisor agreed that this is a BIG problem.  I'm sure it will be fixed very soon!

If you use your cell phone to control your Echo device now you can't (Amazon wasn't aware of this problem until my third call to them).

@patbz I have not tried to do that. I just talk straight to the Echo or Dot. I will have to ask DH if he has tried it thru his phone. I don't really use them that much. I tell her to play songs sometimes. I use the Dot to control our AC while sleeping. I like being able to turn on the heat to warm up the house before I crawl out of bed.

@Nightowlz  Do you have a Nest or other brand thermostat that works with that?

@Sooner

We have the Nest thermostat. I bought it last year at Black Friday.

Our other fire detector & carbon monoxide detector needed to be replaced so we bought the Nest thermostat & Smoke Detector.

It sure is nice being able to control the thermostat from bed instead of getting up. When I get hot in the summer I can turn on the AC. In the winter I can turn on the heat before we get up since it's set on 63° when we go to bed.

Just got the Ring Doorbell & really like it too. Now we know when someone is out front messing around. I like knowing when USPS or UPS drops off packages so I can get them off the porch before someone steals them.

A stray cat has set it off in the middle of the night when it shows up on the front porch to jump in a chair to sleep.

I also have some of the TP Link Plug-Ins on our lamps that I can control while not home so it looks like someone is home.
