Do not like forced live streaming

I enjoy shopping QVC and overall consider myself a very satisfied customer. But I am very unhappy that I am forced to fight with the live streaming. I feel it is intrusive and it  should be my decision whether I want QVC playing constantly.  When I want to see the presentation it is my decision to play but I am angry that QVC seems to feel it is okay to in effect-take over my devices without my active decision to live stream.  Also regardless of the setting to only stream on wifi I have experienced numerous occasions when the app continued to stream when I had no wifi connection,  Wish Q would focus as much energy on our being able to use (consistently) Apple fingerprint technology to access Orders-which has only worked for me a total of 4 times.

I have no idea what you're talking about.  Nobody has ever forced me to use live streaming, nor do I use fingerprint technology.  Nor do I want to use it.

@JoanV Are you talking about the videos automatically playing?  If so, look under the video and you will see a little box that says "play videos automatically".  Uncheck that box and they won't start up anymore unless you push play.  Hope this helps and welcome to the forum.

Re: Do not like forced live streaming

I livestream the Q frequently and it only plays between the time I turn it on and turn it off. My home wifi works pretty well and I do not usually have buffering issues that postpone starting or interrupt during streaming.

I use the Apple fingerprint technology but not for purchasing in the Q. I need to catch up with this!

Re: Do not like forced live streaming

@JoanV,  I'm intrigued by your post, partly because, like others, I'm guessing at the various possible things you might be trying to describe.

Are you streaming one (or all) of their tv channels?

Are Video presentations playing automatically when you look up an item?

You mention the app. Are you talking about the automatic updates of changing items on the widget??

QVC has no way to 'take over' your device.

This is a post for the Electronics forum, there is something about how your device is set up thats disturbing to you, and more experienced people would see your post there.

Beware everyone!  First time poster complaining about QVC is a big red flag or it should be.  These posts are usually from trolls and aren't valid.
