A few comments:

1. Discovery Plus,  yes I also refuse to pay extra for it. My son has Verizon and he gave me his sign on.  It's free for 6 months with certain Verizon plans.  The one I can access does not have commercials which I think is great.  Searching for shows on it is difficult.  The other warning,  is if you have a Samsung Smart TV older than a 2017,  you can't get the AP.  LG Tvs also don't have access to the AP.  I now can only access it on one of my TVs so that is definitely a down fall.

2. If you have DirectTV call them and threaten to leave.  Last year I had a $90 a month credit and this year I have a $70 a month credit.

There are definitely too many streaming services. I am not going to pay for them all.

I am old,  but I also think streaming is often a pain. I like using the DirecTv menu better,

anyway just my two cents.

I'm NOT paying it either !!  I pay enough for Verizon, have Netflix, Roku, etc. smart channels ...  if I can't find something on all those channels there is something WRONG WITH ME !!   I still have my tablet to scroll thru and unfortunately pimples of my own to pop.  Yes, I'm 72 and still get pimples and now dark spots.

First, the non stop adds for Discovery+ have turned me off to the point I am not watching much on their regular channel. And second, if I want to know about the status of any of the people on a variety of shows (like 90 Day Fiance) I just go online and do a search, or go to CelebrityGuy's videos and find out what's going on.

We've tried that tactic and it didn't work for us!  They simply said -- sorry you feel that way and if you have to go somewhere else, we understand!

It is a big racket, to be sure!  I feel your pain!  I never had this much trouble with my skin when I was a teen (I'm 68)!!!!

You need to get thru to the retentions center.  Also,  the last two times I had to say I want to cancel my service and put the cancel date out a month. Within a week or so they will call you and offer you a good price.  This has worked for me for several years.  The last two years it's been more difficult.   This last October they wouldn't offer the credit and I cancelled and they did call back and offer me the $70 off credit per month and free Sunday Ticket.  IT is a pain, and I keep saying this is my last year, but I will keep Directv if I can keep my bill at around $75 a month.

We've been doing the same thing with Directv. We curently get $70 off our monthly bill for the next six months. Once that expires, we will drop them if they don't offer another deal.

We've been Directv customers since 2004, and they treat loyal customers like dirt unless you continually call them for a discount.

Yes,  I agree,  I think we have been with them since the late 1990's.  They don't appreciate their customers. I was really ready to leave this time.  I really like the Sunday Ticket but won't pay for it,  so as long as I can get it for free,  I will be with them,  but it does get old every year going thru the cancel process.
