Dell Laptop

When my son turns oh his Dell laptop (Inspion 5720) the Dell logo comes on but then the screen goes blank. If you hit the space bar in the lower roght hand corner it says F12 Boot Options. The screen is just black. It has windows 8. Thnks Janet
