Took about 45 minutes for the entire process.
Am waiting to get "OS Sierra, For Dummies" to figure out how to use all of the features.
So far working fine.

@Cats3000: which OS were you using before the upgrade? Which Mac do you have? Thanks!

I downloaded it overnight, and it was estimated to take four hours on my MacBook Air. I had read it took that long, so that's why I did it overnight. What do you have that it only took 45 minutes? I don't actually know how long it took to install because I was asleep.

I am afraid to. Every since my last update it seems like I have to force quit Safari alot because my computer slows.
Please let us know how it works out for you.

I installed it the day it was released and had no issues as usual.

It didn't take 4 hours in my imac. It probably took the same 30-45 minutes as the PP said. I can't imagine why it would take 4 hours to install.

Have an iMac (late 2015). 16GB RAM, 1TB HD.
Was using the previous OS (El Captain?).

I've been using it since I downloaded and installed it. Have had no problems doing my regular stuff. Have a Brother Laser Printer (black and white only) and it worked fine. I had just updated the printer and scanner drivers for the previous MAC OS and didn't have to do any thing to print and scan. I believe that Brother will be releasing new printer/scanner drivers shortly; the currrent ones seem to work fine.

I also downloaded and installed it on the first day. Took me about 45 minutes also. I have an iMac.
