Computer Games and Adobe Flash Question

Hi,

I started playing a couple of computer games like Candy Crush months ago. (Don't know why I continue, sometimes it's so frustrating lol). I played for at least a couple of months without having to update my Adobe Flash Player.

In the past month, I've been prompted every week to update my Adobe Flash in order to play the games. Just last week I downloaded Adobe 10.2. Then yesterday, I was prompted to update to Adobe 11.1.

Should I be needing to update and download Adobe once a week? How come I went for weeks without having to update it up until just recently?

Plug-ins like Flash are a common entry point for malware exploiters these days. It's smart to always keep your system updated with the latest and greatest version as older versions tend to have holes which is why there's a latest and greatest version.

Thanks gardenman. I was actually suspicious of all the prompts every week to update all of a sudden, but now I know it's not unusual so I will continue to update Flash as prompted. Smile

Flash is a product of Satan's spawn. ${#emotions_dlg.angry}$ I very much appreciate what it allows in terms of games and allowing a good PowerPoint presentation to be turned into interactive e-learning, but I often feel like the amount of trouble it causes it barely worth it. I think Steve Jobs had the right idea when he refused to allow it on the iPhone.

Adobe Flash gets updates frequently. I think it's mostly security updates. Make sure you keep this updated. I think they up to 11.13 version now? Most importantly....I always update from the Adobe website so I can ensure that is is a legit update. When I see the pop up, I decline, then go to the website to update.
