When your phone shows SOS mode only it usually means your carrier has an outage.  In a case like that emergency calls are routed via any available carrier.

@Poohbear52  - We had that issue today with our phones being on SOS mode, no calls, no texts. 5G did come back about 1/2 hour ago. The service came back on its' own. Hope it stays that way.

@Lovestheshores, that's great. I think ours is back too. I was able to text my daughter before we had service back only because it was imessage. I'm glad it wasn't for long, I heard there were quite a few that were out longer.

I went into SOS mode last evening for a bit but turned the phone off and back and it seems to not be fine.  Since we no longer have non-cellular service that would be a major issue.
