check out cell phones by tracfone on both Qvc and HSN...for the best deals....

also read here on" electronics" as there is also a topic about tracphones and recommendations.

@CherryHugs , if you plan on taking photos with the phone, unless you put them on an SD card, you will need data or wi-fi to transfer them.

I have a phone plan with AT&T.  Don't recall if I paid anything for the phone but my plan costs $25 for 3 months.  Each call/text is 25 cents a minute.  I can also take pictures.  It's a flip phone and I love it.

Hope never to have to get a smartphone.  Don't want one, don't need one.

You're always going to have to pay some company for service.  Phone service is not free.  I paid about $80. for a TracFone smart phone which came with 1500 free minutes, data, text and phone.  When my year of service expires, I buy another year for about $50., so that's what it costs me to use my phone for a year.  I use the phone very little so I never run out of time.

I have a Tracfone, too. I have a question...if you let service expire then will you need to reactivate and get another phone number?
