Just wondering if this laptop would be worth considering. I like that it has 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD, but I'm not too happy about the processor (AMD Athlon 300U). Would appreciate hearing opinions about it. Thanks.

@qualityshopper About 5 years ago I picked up a TSV HP from Q.
It was terrible. The "lifetime tec support" non existent, the battery - 2 months - gone.
Heated up to a frightening level. Have a friend who works for HP, said there was nothing wrong with it but not to expect any life from any battery, they just haven't mastered them yet and they're all the same, replacements etc.
I've had several laptops, Toshiba was awesome, lasted 5-6 years, was only a couple hundred $.
Now using a MacBook Air. Love it. Not sure I've even mastered all the features yet. They're pricey but I'm pretty sure if this one dies i'll get another.

I would pass the processor is entry level. HP has weekly deals online and Black Friday is coming.

8GB of RAM is bare minimum. I have 16GB on this iMac and wish I had purchased 32. I'm not familiar with SSD's; maybe someone else is.
As a rule, I WILL NOT purchase computer equipment of any kind from ANY TV Shopping Channel. I use the Apple Store On-Line, an Apple Retail Store, or an Authorized Apple Reseller. I recommend doing similar for other manufacturers.

I would never order anything from a shopping channel, they are always older devices and they are bloated with software you will never need or use. And the shipping and handling of these computers from QVC are a nightmare from what I read on these forums. Also the so called tech support is terrible too from what I read.

That processor is a dual core, if that means anything to you. It might not be the fastest. Depends on what you plan on using it for.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I tried to do some more research on this processor after I posted on here and decided it wasn't for me. I'd be fine with just 8 GB RAM for what I do, but the processor wasn't adequate as far as I'm concerned. As @SilleeMee stated, it's only dual core, and I would prefer quad core. Also prefer Intel, although I'd be OK with AMD if this laptop had one of their better processors installed. Will wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Have you considered a Chromebook? They're pretty fantastic.
