I did read that Microsoft is not going to support windows 8 anymore or any software older then that.

That isn't true.

All versions of Windows have an end of life schedule. Here is the link showing you the various dates. If you do not understand the difference in the dates listed, MS has provided links describing what each means at the bottom of that page. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/lifecycle

Yes, it is true....FYI.. If you have this older program you will have to download numerous updates.they will no longer update by themselves. That is why there is a deep clearance on windows 8 tablets and computers. So buyer beware. Microsoft is going to be unveiling there windows 10 computers and tablets in the very near future.

No, it's not. While Microsoft will discontinue supporting Windows 8 operating system, it's not going to be now. Microsoft just stopped supporting Windows XP April 8, 2014 and it was released in 2001. Here is a list of Windows operating system and their end of support dates.

Whatever! I don't care this does not affect me. They extended it then it is fine for folks who want to continue to use the older programs. I have no problems with windows 8.1 and none with windows 8. In fact I am looking forward to the new technology. And it is coming in the very near future. Thanks for the link, have a good night.

If you have Win7 Home Edition, you should be able to download current updates of Internet Explorer. However, there are better/faster browsers than Internet Explorer.

You could go to Mozilla.com and download their Firefox browser which works just fine on on Win7 and Win8, as well as WinXP. You could also go to Google.com and download their Chrome browser which also works well on XP, Win7 and Win8. Personally, I prefer Firefox, but that's just me.

Users with WinXP will find more and more websites blocking their access, mostly due to security issues. However, Firefox and Chrome browsers will extend the life of this operating system. This will give you some time to explore your options and get a new laptop or tablet.

Don't post incorrect information. It's too easy to find what is right doing a Google search.

FYI.... that is what I read at the time. I don't have time to constantly be on Google checking every two minutes so at the time this was right. When they updated this I do not know. So thanks for the link. It does not concern me but, others on these boards might be interested. Enough said!

As I posted, others want correct information. You don't do anyone any favors posting what's wrong.
