I don't know if this will work, but you might try!

Go to Settings

Click on System

Click on Notifications and Actions

Under the Quick Actions it shows "Edit Your Quick Actions"

Click on that and it will show what you have selected for your notifications (mine has little "pins" on each showing what I have in my Action Center/Notifications)

If the brightness slider doesn't have one, hit Add.

Good luck!

Yay! I don't know much about computers - just enough to be dangerous lol - and I am so glad it worked for you!

I know the feeling because I just had a problem after an Windows update where I completely lost my printer (HP) function and found it was a problem with my Malwarebytes security program.

I tried everything and finally had to contact them, but then the next day they said they had a fix and I just had to hit an update button on the fix and it all worked again. Whew.
