Re: Are screen protectors necessary?

The only time I ever used one was on a tablet which had a very glossy screen. I bought a screen protector that was non-glare and that took care of the glare problem.

Re: Are screen protectors necessary?

I've never had a screen protector on any mobile device.  I'm very careful with them and don't knock them around.  Also have never had a case.

I've always had a screen protector applied to my phones whenever I got a new one.  But I've since heard you no longer need to put them on.  Being as new phones and tablets have gorilla glass on them. Do you still apply screen protectors on phones and tablets?

@songbird @If you drop your devices it's not just the screen that can be damaged. For fantastic protection, try any Otter Defender Series case. Husband's device was run over by a truck and was still in excellent condition underneath the case.

My Otter iPad cases take a beating and keep my iPads in perfect condition.

@songbird

I just had a glass screen protector by Supershieldz installed on my large tablet. This is the first screen protector I bought for a tablet.

I found it on Amazon.

LOL, this tablet only has gorilla glass 3 and my phone has gorilla glass 6.

I have an Otterbox case without a screen protector on my phone. The cover shields the face of my phone.

I would use a screen protector on a phone.

@gardenman

I carry my smartphone in my handbag. A screen protector saved my phone from a nasty scratch.

All the younger people in my family uses a screen protector on their phones.

I always have a case and always put on gorilla glass on each new phone.  i don't use trackfone and always keep my phone for years.

@songbird

I have a Note 10. Samsung includes this as temporary protection for your phone.

You may want to consider a Supershieldz from Amazon. Please check the customer reviews.

I carry my iPhone in my pocket.  I have a screen protector on it.  Screen does stay clean.  Have no idea what I might do should I trade to a new one.

Re: Are screen protectors necessary?

Sometimes, you could have an accident with your phone, that is not your fault. I am very careful with my devices, but once at work I was walking from one building to another, near a basketball court, and a stray basketball hit my hand, and knocked my phone onto the ground, and now I have a crack in the screen. My point being, you can take very good care of your devices, and stuff happens. I wish I had had a screen protector.
