I've always had a screen protector applied to my phones whenever I got a new one. But I've since heard you no longer need to put them on. Being as new phones and tablets have gorilla glass on them. Do you still apply screen protectors on phones and tablets?

I do to help prevent scratches and glare.

I've never used one and my screens are fine. My phone goes into a pocket all by itself and it's in a case that protects everything but the screen, but I've never broken a screen, scratched a screen, cracked a screen, or had an issue. I see people's phones that look like they've been in a war and it always amazes me. My phones typically get swapped out and upgraded every year or two but they're always perfect when they get swapped out. I have a Wii U console that's eight years old and still has a like new screen despite getting lots of playtime.
I don't really know what the heck people do to screens to scratch them, but I've never had an issue so I've never bought or installed a screen protector.

I usually get a real good case so it has never been necessary for me. I find that the glass they are making on the tablets are much more protective and stronger then years before.

I agree with you and I have had many hand held devices though the years.

Depends on how hard you are on on your phone. My grandson had a Body Guardz screen protector on his iPhoneX - he dropped it and not only was the screen protector cracked the iPhone screen was too. Luckily we had insurance on the phone but still had to pay a few hundred for a replacement.

I've only had one "smart phone" and since I do drop it all the time I got a $10 screen protector at Walmart.
This thing is great and has protected the phone from so many drops on the cement and everywhere. I don't mean to drop it, I just do.
So, for anyone that needs one, I definitely recommend!

I get Gorilla Glass. My husband usually puts it on mine. The first smart phone I ever got, was one I tried to put on myself....and messed it up. All of my siblings have Iphones and none of them have screen protectors.

Well, since we are anonymous, I have a embarrassing number of iPads. One for each grandkid.
All they have managed to do in the last four years is make them sticky.
True test lab.
