I am looking into purchasing a new iMac desktop and have been reading about the Applecare extended warranty. Does anyone have AppleCare, is it worth the extra fee?

@homedecorator i've always purchased Apple Care. I'm in the process of choosing between a new MacBook and a MacBook Pro, but either way I will continue to add Apple Care. You will love your new desktop....congratulations!

Nope. I used it once on my imac, and that was 5 years after owning it and the per incident charge is 29 dollars.

I learned my lesson big time..... Apple products are worth the cost. And there Apple care is the best. I hope you enjoy your Mac computer O/P.

Thank you @phoenixbrd! wow, a Macbook or Macbook pro sounds fantastic! The $169 fee isn't too bad and now it covers up to 2 accidental incidents, just wasn't sure if it was an unnecessary add on.

New iMacs will be released sometime in Sept or Oct. Personally, I would wait till then as the new OS High Sierra will be preinstalled on them.

The best thing about AppelCare for "desktops" is that you are entitled to "in home" repairs. A tech will come to your house to repair instead of you lugging your desktop to an Apple Store or an AASP.![]()

The new imacs are already out and ready for delivery, except the imac Pro which is going to be five thousand dollars.
I wouldn't let a OS upgrade stop me from ordering. It's extremely simple to DL and install and it's free.

Yeah, I just checked Apple's site & there they were & already shipping out......except for that $5000 monster (black iMac Pro)

HI @homedecorator ... I have never purchased any Apple product without the AppleCare. Definitely worth the money.
