I just recently got my iPhone 16e>. It replaced my previous iPhone 7!!!!!
My old phone was still working but I couldn't update it as needed. I also just bought a new MacBook Air. I still have a MacBook Pro, but I'm relocating and I wanted to start out with new goodies!!!!! I love my Apple products!!!!!

I hear ya @gardenman Apple has built quite a company...yes on good products, but also way too much cult hype.
That said....while I love my iPad Pro, and had another before that...I've yet to want an iPhone. I'm not one to fall for the MY PHONE NEEDS TO BE UPDATED EVERY 2-3 YEARS! Or...EVERYTIME VERIZON HAS A NEW DEAL FOR ME!! And I'm just not attached to my smart phone as some are. And also...When I FINALLY transitioned over to a smart phone from my last flip phone, now several years ago, but still late to the game compared to others....I wanted the Samsung Galaxy, I think it was the 4 at that point...it really was marketed well and at that time, the camera was way better than the iPhone at that time, until Apple updated about 6 mos later, and only after Apple had about 2 upgrades...as I still think Galaxy 4 was better at that time for a while. I was using it to take pics at work to post on our social media, and compared to taking pics for customers with their iPhones, even they lamented how much better mine were.
I don't switch my phone until I need to, I'm only on my 2nd smart phone, kept that first Galaxy 7 years, and it served me well. I currently am still using my Galaxy 20FE. I could stand to upgrade, I know there's been some new features, but I'm just not yet inclined enough.
There's many reasons I've stuck with Samsung Galaxy over Iphone....I just have liked them. The quality and camera, all has been great. And while some like the fact that all ther Apple products synch....I love that my phone does not. My bf has more problems than not due to all the constant updates/sign in again, pairing of devices, that I don't have. No thanks...all so Apple can convince you it is better to just "stay within the fold" with ALL your devices. And I'm not slamming anyone who does either. Again...I don't hate Apple or their products. I just simply have loved my Galaxy phones.
Anyhoo....right or wrong...it's been right for me.
Apple IS a quality company, product...but all these constant "updates", especially to the phone....I believe, and those that have the phones concur.....are usually a joke.

Buy whatever you like and want to use, feel that is reasonable, etc. Whatever reason you have.
But no reason to pick on others. It's just electronics, not a reason to put down anyone else's tech equipment just because their wants, needs and likes are different than yours.

@gardenman As an Apple household since 1999 you are so correct sbout their "events." Watching it now. It's the only time I use Safari.
I am one of the few fans that do not fall for their "you gotta have this/the latest" whatever product. But, you gotta admit, their OS products (computers) lasts for eons. I am currently using my 2008 silver keyed MacBook Pro on Snow Leopard OS to play around on this message board. Nice piece of junk huh?
Thanks for the
iPhone Air is the thinness phone on the market.

Interesting that they didn't talk about heat dissipation on the iPhone Air, but talked about it a lot on the iPhone Pro.
@gardenman You are not the only one who noticed that piece of missing info.
Adding the taxes/tarrifs both iPhones will start out over $1k.

I consider myself to be a practical person. After having several mid-cost tablets and laptops, I got tired of them getting buggy and slow after a while no matter what I did and finally biting the dust after 3-4 years. I use my electronics A LOT. I bought an iPad and Macbook Pro in 2015 and never looked back. Do you know that MacBook Pro is still working flawlessly? Buy once, cry once. I have had to replace my iPad since that time for numerous reason--didn't buy enough storage the first time, because I didn't know what I was doing and ruined the charger port on my second one--totally my fault. But they work so flawlessly and quickly, that I will keep buying Apple products.
That being said, I am retired and a light phone user--no kids or grandkids. I have my other two devices to use 99% of the time, so why do I need an expensive phone with a tiny screen that would be mostly used for calls and texts? So I use an Android tracfone and have been very happy with those. I do buy the packages on HSN or QVC and buy the higher end phone packages that are offered. Would I like to have an iPhone? Yes, just because everything would sync, but I'm not going to pay the exorbitant price for something that I mainly use for calls and texts.
For some people, though, their phone is their only internet access, so I can understand spending the money on the latest and greatest iPhone, because in that situation, you would sure want something dependable, that works flawlessly, and that you can easily get help with if needed.
