Cordless Phone with Link 2 Cell question

Anyone have personal experience with the Panasonic Panasonic Cordless Phone system (KX-TGF975) with link 2 cell?

I am considering this to replace my landline but am concerned about call clarity and maintaining bluetooth connections.

My intention is to get a second tracphone number (I don't use either my landline or cell very much) that would remain near the base and be blue tooth connected at all times.

We have a panasonic link to cell and it works well, our landline is thru magic jack.

Re: Cordless Phone with Link 2 Cell question

@We rescue cats,  thank you; now I feel more confident about the process I'm contemplating.

Rather than getting a VoIP device my intent is to use the second tracfone (using my existing landline number) as the "house phone"/"landline" so reliability is a must.

I may rethink that in the future.  Admittedly I am a bit uncomfortable giving up my POTS landline but the cost has become unconscionable and no changes can be made to my current plan.  I no longer use the phone enough to warrant a subscription.

@Marp

I've been thinking of doing the same thing. The bill for our Verizon POTS line is currently $83.00 monthly. The last bill said it's going up November 1. I tried the Ooma VOIP a couple years ago. I had to return it because it kept kicking our other devices offline.

Re: Cordless Phone with Link 2 Cell question

Not sure if this will work for you or not but for a long while I had cell phone set up to accept calls for 2 numbers, my cell number and our house phone. It would tell me whether incoming call was my primary line or the second line, but to add to that I set up 2 different ringtones. But DH wanted to have a real 'house' phone so we added a Magic Jack (Walmart) I think it was $80, that covers us for a year. I think the renewal is under $50 for another year.

Re: Cordless Phone with Link 2 Cell question

Appreciate the suggestion @We rescue cats, but I'm with your DH on this.  I refuse to be attached to my cell so I want handsets nearby.

My understanding of the Panasonic system I'm almost committed to does not require a standard line connection or internet.  A bluetooth connection to a cell is all that is needed.
