Well, they are doing some interesting things, aren't they? We'll have to see what happens tomorrow. If you can get one delivered by the 23rd, then they've pretty much got to sell them tomorrow.

Same here. Some of those on the Kindle forum talked to Amazon reps who told them the shipping date was only for those who got invites on Friday and not for the rest of us riff raff.

mine hasn't shipped yet but gives delivery date of 12/26 which is better than the original date of 12/28 to 12/31

This is a terrible way to do business. I feel like the elite are getting "invites" and the rest of us , it's too bad! Either have enough to go around for all Prime Members or don't roll them out yet.

I wouldn't say I buy a lot of stuff from amazon. I like to buy ebooks when they are really discounted. I don't sign up for any amazon emails only the ones to confirm your purchase and when it ships. I feel a lot of people here should have gotten the invite before me because I only requested an invite after seeing this thread.

I think every prime member will get the 99.00 price because the email heading says your echo is ready to purchase now.

Ok so now Amazon has ticked me off, I just went to order (I did not get an invitation) it said in stock, added to cart no problem except it says 199.00 so I signed in I am a prime member, when I went to process order it said sorry there is a problem with your order it is by invitation only. Really what is the game they are playing I bet if I were a new customer I could have purchased for 199.00 but they don't want to sell anymore at 99.00. I think I will keep the money in my pocket even when they are available in the future they can keep it.

I was just able to add it to my cart too..but couldn't order..I think that might be happening because there is a private seller selling their new Echo on Amazon....DW

They've also changed the get it by date to the 26th...several people on the Amazon boards are having the same thing happening to them...DW
