💻 Adobe Flash Player users 🖥

Since Adobe no longer supports Flash Player after December 31, 2020 and blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021, Adobe strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems.

Some users may continue to see reminders from Adobe to uninstall Flash Player from their system.  See below for more details on how to uninstall Flash Player.

UPDATED: January 13, 2021

Sorry, I am unable to post the actual link.  I have ad blockers.  Adobe websites usually have lots of their products for sale ads.

Non clickable link--> adobe DOT COM/products/flashplayer/end-of-life.html

Go to your favorite search engine....

In the search field type.....

Adobe Flash Player End Of Life

Topic should show up as Adobe Flash Player EOL.  That is the link you want.  Adobe FP uninstaller is on the above website.

**NOTE**  Only download the uninstaller from Adobe's website.

Re: 💻 Adobe Flash Player users 🖥

I read that iOS 14 stopped supporting Adobe Flash Player on Safari.

What changes by no longer having Adobe Flash Player...?

what happens if you don't remove Adobe Flash Player...?

You will no longer be able to use websites, videos & games that use FP - won't work.

In the company’s own words it “strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to protect their systems.

Flash has had a chequered history over the years, with malicious hackers frequently exploiting security holes in order to infect users’ computers. In addition, bogus Adobe Flash updates have been a commonly deployed disguise for those trying to trick surfers into downloading malware onto their PCs.

What replaces it?

This is the first I've even heard about this, so I'm completely ignorant.

Re: ? Adobe Flash Player users ?

@chickenbutt  HTML5, WebGL and WebAssembly are replacing FP.   I think all browsers have made the transition.

I have a Mac, so Apple has been sending me notices since last November-December as reminders to uninstall.

It's possible you are/were unaware because you do not visit sites that utilizes FP.  Or play games that only run on FP.  The games I play "online" use to use FP but they all changed over last year except for the Addicting Games website.  Pogo game website transitioned last summer I believe.  No issues w/my "offline" games.

Thank  You for that valuable information.  I did not even know that browsers have already moved on to another one.  Heck, I just the other day had a Adobe Flash Player update that was with my Window updates.

I don't play any online games, so you're right that I am not familiar in terms of that.    Whenever there is a video or such a thing that uses the flash player is the only time I use it (I guess - it just automatically uses whatever software exists for that purpose).  Smiley Happy

@Mz iMac

Thanks for the info. I have deleted the unnecessary program. I don't want any problems!
