I was really hoping someone could offer me some advice.

@Jordan2 Tracfone has changed from the triple minutes to the smartphone plans which turn out to be about the same price for the amount of minutes you had after they were tripled. I can help you if you tell me how many minutes and lenth of time you are looking for and about how much you expect to pay for what you are getting. Let me know.
If you want the additional year, it is $49.99 and you have to place something in your cart then the additional year will show up as an add-on.

@Jordan2 My experience has been that if your phone has the triple minutes for life you get triple minutes regardless of where you buy your minutes. I have a smart phone and it has triple minutes. My husband's slightly newer smart phone did not come with triple minutes. @lizzys is correct in that the price works out about the same when adding service/minutes. I always buy my service and minutes from the Tracfone site.

@lizzys, I actually have this phone as an emergency phone, if the power goes out or something happens with Spectrum (my mother is 90 years old so a phone is essential). I have 3,155 minutes, 3,186 text messages, and 2816.23 data (MB), i don't use the text messaging or data. I have been getting my length of service extended by buying a 60 minute 3 month service airtime card (everything was tripling). My current end of service is 3/27/18, I was maybe going to try to find a card at Target, I wasn't sure if the ones that I had been buying will work with my smartphone. Thank you for any help you can give me.

@Jordan2 So you only need to add time. I would suggest going the the website and click on shop then on airtime cards/service plans.and scroll all the way to the bottom where it says smartphone add-ons. Put the $5 for 1000 texts in your cart. I know you don't need any text messages but this is the least expensive item to add to your cart. Then when you are at your cart you will see an add-on for 365 days of service for $49.99. Once all the taxes are added, your total should be $58.29 for the whole year. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else.
Edited to say: Maybe when you are at the cart it will let you delete the $5 text message item. Worth a try!

Hi @Jordan2! I know one poster here does the thing where she'll add 5 dollars worth of texts to her cart, select the option to add a year of time for 50 dollars, and then she'll delete the 5 dollars worth of texts from her cart. I almost did that once, but it made me nervous, so I just kept it. It was great to get a year of service for 50 dollars.
I find it helpful to have a Tracfone account so I can access all of these things online. My dad prefers to buy his year of service card at the store for 100 dollars and load it in manually. He had an issue once trying to load it online and he's uninterested in trying again. I ask him every year if he'd like to try again (and save some money in the process), but no bites yet.
Hope you're doing well!

@Stargazer77, I have been buying the $20 cards, adds 180 minutes (triples the 60 minutes) and gives me 3 months of airtime. I always think something better is just around the corner so I don't want to buy a year of airtime. Eventually I think I will because I don't think Tracfone offers triple anything anymore and I like that feauture.

@Jordan2 I used to feel the same way about the airtime, but then I thought about it more and I decided it didn't really matter because the airtime just gets added on and rolled over anyway. Sometimes I get a phone every year on the dot, sometimes I don't find a phone I like for quite a while. I had my Ultimate 2 forever before I finally bit the bullet and switched over to something else!
I'm not sure if I make out better with the new system or with the triple minutes system. You'll have to switch over eventually since the old system is no more.
