ACTUALLY GOT HELP FROM FACEBOOK!!

About a week ago I noticed that tho I was getting the usual Notifications, when I clicked on the bell symbol all I got was a never endsing blue circle.

 

Went to the Settings page and saw that function was on OFF. I couldn't turn it back ON as the box was grayed out.

 

I decided to take a chance and did a report to FB and the NEXT DAY it was fixed! I have to admit I was amazed!!
