So I'm moving into a new apartment soon and am looking to save money where I can. I'll be using Verizon Fios as my provider, I'm thinking about just getting internet and subscribing to Hulu Live TV instead of cable. They offer 300mbps for $40 and 500mbps for $65. I live alone and would be streaming while I'm on my computer, Will 300mbps speed be fast enough or should I go with the 500mbps?

@Jordan2 Our (just me and my husband) have a very slow internet speed and we have no problems...we stream some tv and I am on the laptop...
In my opinion you will be just fine.

I live alone and I basically use one device at a time to stream or to browse or for other reasons to be online. Believe me, 300MBPS is plenty. My provider is Optimum and I have 100 MBPS service I find quite adequate for me to stream Netflix or Amazon Prime or YouTube.
One reason to get 500MBPS would be for a family to have so every person could be actively online or streaming simultaneously. You do not meet that criterion.
Please be assured there is no advantage to you to
spend $25 more per month, $300 more a year, for bigger bandwidth.
Choose 300 MBPS with confidence. It's very easy to upgrade if you find any negatives.

You don't even need that much unless you're using 20 devices at once and downloading multiple HD movies at the same time. 300 mbps is more than enough. You can go as low as 50 or less and still be okay.

At any given time I have 28-30 devices online and I used to have 100 mbps and had no issues. The introductory rate stopped and moving up to 300 mbps was actually cheaper and I still don't notice a difference.

@Jordan2 You asked this in your other posting & I answered.
"Never argue with a fool. Onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."

Well!! I waited for years to get over 1.5mbps DSL. Now, the fastest I can get where we live is 40mbps.
I stream very little, but have streamed 4k content, and my 40mbps speed is just fine, with seldom any "buffering. 300 or 500mbps? Only in my dreams.
Ya figured out which one I would choose? Save money, I can't imagine needing 500mbps for any home.

In all honesty, you probably wouldn't even notice a difference in the two speeds. Go with the 300 MBPS.

On Help.hulu dot com there is a discussion about internet speed recommendations there. Search: Internet speed recommendations. That should give you all the information you need.
