1st time buyer...help please

I placed my first order today, and I received my confirmation email which said no charge would be placed until the item has shipped. But almost immediately I was charged for the first Easy Pay payment. Is it possible the item has already shipped or is this just the usual practice?

Usually you will see the authorization, which is like a hold on the funds until the item ships.

You can check online or by phone to see if it has shipped. I have never known an item to ship the day it was ordered. They will put a hold on your account for the payment.

It's not a hold for authorization, it's a payment that has cleared, so was a bit confused.

All orders take anywhere from one to five days to ship, depending on where the item is coming from.

So it's possible that your first Easy Payment is actually just pending, and won't post until the order is actually shipped. This is especially common if you used a debit card (w/ a Visa or Mastercard logo).

Re: 1st time buyer...help please

Funds are immediately held the minute you use a debit or credit card. That amount reduces funds available in the account/credit card balance. This is normal banking operations and happens when you go to the grocery store, pharmacy, B&M store, or shop online. The seller doesn't actually charge you until the item is shipped. If the order is never shipped, the hold on those funds drops off according to your bank's policies. My bank holds them for 3 business days. My credit union holds them for 7 calendar days.
