I've been carrying my canvas tote with the leather trim mostly as a shoulder bag and noticed that when I wear darker colors it rubs off on the canvas part.  

How are you cleaning your canvas bags?

I have red D&B canvas bag and this is the 3rd summer that I have carried.  I never had that problem.  For some reason, it seems like my bag repels dirt.  It's kinda weird that way.  However, I have dripped ice cream on it a time or two.  I made a mild deterget/warm water solution and wiped the stains off with a clean/fresh sponge and they came right out.  Then I let it air dry.

Thanks  I have the spring green straps and trim so the majority of the bag is a lighter color.  I thought that a mild detergent /warm water might work but just wanted some other opinions.  I'll try this weekend when I switch bags.  I love this bag it's so roomy and light.

Thank you for contacting Dooney & Bourke.  We apologize for the delay in responding to your email.  For the canvas portion please use sodium free seltzer water along with a soft bristled toothbrush and a mild ivory bar soap.  Do not saturate the purse; only spot clean in a gentle circular motion.
