I have been a QVC customer since the first aired!! and I am VERY upset!!
I moved to Alaska 28 years ago and have most of my items shipped, but had to fight for a bunch to be sent because NO One reconized Alaska as a state!!! I have had to fight for just about every 3rd item being sent.. NOW they will not send a very small diaminque ring.. WHY, WHY!! there is nothing explosive or dangerous about this, so what is the problem?????? I am closing my account of over 20 YEARS because I am tired of all the very stupid customer service saying "cant ship to your area" . Well I say BS
Love and Hugs,
Patricia - Former customer!!!!!!

First of all, remove your name. I am not defending QVC, they are what they are. There are other places to shop.

We, in this country, are all free to decide where we wish to live. Each state comes with its own pluses and minuses, advantages and disadvantages.
Surely over 28 years there have been other companies with difficulties, higher cost, and/or restrictions in their shipping to a non-contiguous state.
If one feels strongly about how a company handles their deliveries, then perhaps it is best to shop elsewhere.

Who in the U.S. wouldn't recognize Alaska as a state?
I get that some things aren't shipped outside the Continental United States, or they attract a higher shipping charge.
But I don't believe anyone (certainly in business) doesn't know that Alaska is one of the 50 U.S. states.

Not everyone lives in the state in which they "wish to live", but because they may have job or family responsibilities to fulfill. I don't "wish to live"in the state I live in, but my job requires it and that job is setting up my husband and me for one heck of a nice retirement. Once I retire, we will move to the state in which we "wish to live".

It's not that company's don't recognize Alaska as a state, but many areas in the state are remote and shipping becomes complicated and very costly.......which the OP is fully aware of since she has lived in the state for decades.
The OP is also very aware of the company's who will deliver to Alaska and consider supporting them with her business.
I'm with QVC on this one.......

Why do you keep ordering? I don't mean that in a nasty way. I live in the midwest and am tired of having to deal with Q's issues so I can only imagine what it's like in Alaska. It's pretty rare that I can't find what I want elsewhere for less money and free shipping 99% of the time.

A lot of people don't realize people from Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory or that its people are U.S. citizens so I'm not surprised some would not recognize Alaska as a state.
