Tracking error; my package never accepted at post office

I have been following tracking on an order I placed a few weeks ago.  Tracking says it was shipped and accepted by my local post office on the 22nd.  I called post office because it was never delivered and they say they never received it.  Customer Service phone line is busy so i sent an email.  I got a reply I will hear back in a few days.  I hate to pay for something I never received.
