Slow getting returns processed.....anyone else having this problem?

I mailed 4 items back to QVC at a local branch of a post office.    One item returned quickly with a notice of it's return sent to me.   I kept waiting to see the other 3 items processed.    Finally, 12 days later I called and I was asked if I had taken it to the main post office?     Well, no.   I never have and would never go all the way down town in the middle of horrible congestion when I have a post office 3 miles away.    That I was told was the problem.      Customer service says post office handles the processing for returns to go to main post office and it can take longer.     Since it had been 12 days she agreed to send in a credit for the 3 items but said it twould take  7-10 days!!!     What is going on here?

Returns seem to have a low priority at QVC.  Your experience is not unusual.  There are constant complaints about it, especially since HSN and Evine are so speedy.  To answer your question: There nothing going on and therein lies the problem.

I highly suggest using the post office to return -- don't use the prepaid return label. My returns are there in 2-3 days, and are processed in less than 10 days every time,

Yep, count me in.  I sent something back on the 30th (Sept.).  It's shown as received on the 7th and still no refund.  I understand Monday was a holiday, but don't they have anyone processing returns on the weekend or does it all grind to a halt?  If so, that would explain the long delays, as they work through the pile-up.

I had to recently, for the first time, return something to Amazon (free original and return shipping).  I couldn't believe it, when the day after I mailed it, I got an email saying my refund had been processed.

ETA:  I finally did an online chat today because my refund still wasn't processed.  The CS rep issued the refund and I asked why, it seems lately, there was such a delay.  She said the "normal" time for refunds to be processed is "7 to 10 days".  And that's after they receive the return.  Then, of course, it takes time for it to appear on your statement.  This has got to be the slowest refund system of any online retailer I deal with.
