It was the usual gun regulations vs. everybody should open carry so that they can be Dirty Harry arguments.

It would be nice if people to leave that out of the conversations, but I know that that will never happen.

Also, there were those that purposefully posted pot stirring comments with the sole purpose of getting the tread taken down.

Mod did not state it was closed "because it became argumentative"

@goldensrbest I thought everyone was civil too but I guess others thought differently.I like to hear how everyone feels and I don't expect them to feel as I do.

People were and did argue on that thread.

The mod may not have specifically stated that that was the reason, but it was obvious that that was the reason why the thread was closed.

It was the usually case of we-need-stricter-gun-control vs. everyone-needs-to-open-carry-just-in-case-they-are-needed-to-take-out-a-bad-guy.

Well, my comment on this thread has been removed -- as anticipated.

As for not discussing this matter, it continues to engage many of us because we are highly, frightfully concerned for the lives of our loved ones (and our own life, too).

@golding76  There are plenty of other places to discuss it.  A home shopping electronic retailer has deemed it inappropriate for its forum.  But I'm certainly you can find many forums where you can discuss it and it will be deemed appropriate.

I posted on that thread. I did my darndest not to violate the rules here. I was not zapped. Apparently, someone either became zappable or the moderators thought that the subject matter was too controversial. The latter disturbs me more than the former. The stakes are too high to abrogate our responsibilities as concerned citizens.

Being honest, (and I'll either be removed or insulted), unless you agree with the those who say get rid of the guns/make the laws stricter, you're a bad person who is gun happy and then the insults start. The moment a jab/insult/snarky comment is made, a true discussion is over. It happens EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I just sit back and watch.
