Maybe I've been living under a rock or haven't exchanged anything recently, I knew they always took away the $6.95 (shipping fee back to QVC) BUT to also be charged the original shipping and handling fee as well is completely ridiculous.  The CS rep called it a "restocking fee", honestly.

As much money as I have spent over the years I am truly disappointed in their handling of this, don't get me wrong CS has always been amazing but not a fan of their policies.

QVC perhaps you should take a look at how your competition handles returns, if they can do it so can you!

It's been this way for years. This is why I don't order clothes or shoes from QVC. And I try to order other items on free shipping days. That said if I order something from Belk or Talbots that it not in their B&M stores I have to pay shipping and if I return it they do not reimburse the original S&H. I always get free shipping with Macy's.

Basically if you are ordering clothing items from QVC  and returning them you are paying to try on clothes. I am not  impressed enough with their clothing selection to do this.

I don't know why they called it a restocking fee, it isn't. It is the fee you paid to have the item shipped to you. Unless the item is defective, or was a QVC error, you do not get that fee back. You ordered the item and paid for QVC to ship it to you and that is what they did. That is the deal. I know QVC used to refund original S&H, but that policy changed years ago.

Shoppers do need to check their return credits.  I recently discovered that I was cheated out of $6.95.  I returned two items together, and the $6.95 fee was taken off BOTH of the return credits.  The social team fixed it for me.  But I wonder how often that happens and people don't check,  Was it an honest mistake or are they trying to slip one by me?

@izzyrizzle. I can't for the life of me understand why you think you shouldn't pay the original shipping fee.  They're not going to charge you again so you think you ought to get free shipping on the item just because you exchanged it?

It is quite a normal policy to charge shipping both ways unless there is a free shipping day. Then you would only pay the $6.95 to return the item. They aren't going to credit you the shipping to get the item to you just because you returned it. That makes no sense. @izzyrizzle

I ordered a pair of Reef sandals last week, they came free shipping but they did not fit me so I am returning them. I filled out the online form and just dropped them off at the UPS store this morning, no charge for the return. Same way that Amazon handles most of their returns, take them to the UPS store drop it off, no box, no lable, just a scan. Food for thought, it works really well and makes me shop with them more often.

@We rescue cats - If you used a QVC return label and the item is not being returned due to error, defect, or damage, you will be charged a return fee.

@loriqvc  Yep, it's why I do not often order clothing or sized items from QVC.

@We rescue cats - just because you didn't have to pay at thr UPS Store doesn't mean there's no return shipping charge to you.  QVC will deduct the appropriate amount from your refund.  The only free shipping on returns happens when an item was received by the customer in broken or defective condition.
