Some IT issues are more difficult than others to fix. It is what it is.

 

They don't owe anyone a published explanation. You already know there were IT issues.

 

That said, I think they'll put minimal effort into forums since it's obvious they would rather shut them down. Maybe they want to make people angry so they'll go away and have less throwback when they do shut them down.

I was just horribly sad.  At least once a day I'll think of something I need to ask this board, it's my Google shortcut.  And then I'll think, no, I can't do that.  This is a great place to solve "bets" DH and I make with each other.

After reading their notice on the top page, it sounds to me like there is no plan to discontinue these forums.  The language sounds much more promising to be than previous notices.

@on the bay    You need not abruptly leave your friends.  Most of us were over frolicking in the Proforums, having a good time.  Have you joined over there?  Many people are going to discover this board gone one day and with them will go all references to how to get on the Proforums.  I hope people are keeping notes.

I belatedly went over there Tuesday evening and was surprised to see so many there.   I struggled to figure out how to do my avatar, but gave up.  It was too late and my brain just wasn't getting it right.
