I get similar pictures from UPS. I set up a MyChoice account on UPS.com and set up notifications. They give me a timeframe on the day of delivery and send me a picture when something is delivered.

@CalminHeart - I don't expect anyone to babysit me. And I only wish there was a curb where the driver left my package! This is a busy state road in a rural area. The state plow went by just as I got there to retrieve it; luckily it didn't get pushed further into the ditch; just covered in more dirt and snow.
UPS used to take a photo as "Delivery Proof", but that hasn't happened in the two times this driver left my packages in the snowbank, but put "Front Door" as the delivery location. I wonder why???
I also monitor my deliveries (as I am monitoring the ones due today) and request notification. None of that happened, even though I was promised the driver would phone me, if he felt he couldn't come up the drive.
I'm aware of the pressures these men and women work under and I've defended them in the past. I always go out to meet them, when I see them arriving to speak to them and save them some time.
But I will not defend a liar.

I just received a UPS delivery. He rang my doorbell. Rang my doorbell...just like in the olden days.

This is pretty standard practice around here, I guess as it is the same style of delivery I always get from UPS.
USPS even leaves packages inside my hallway!
Amazon is great with their photo of the delivery location, and FedEx is my least favorite delivery service. They often drop and run without even ringing the bell to let you know something came.
I'd fall over if a driver rang my bell and waited for me to answer unless I had to sign for the package. UPS doesn't have any obligation to ring the bell or wait for us to answer the door.
On my MyChoice account on UPS.com, there is an option to to tell them where to deliver packages. I listed back door and that's where they deliver. I also receive a notice when something is delivered and they include a picture.
I remember the UPS guy would always knock on my door. He didn't stay around, but their instructions were to knock, leave the pkg. and leave. I liked that but for some reason it stopped. No more knocking on my door. Lucky if they place it on the porch. Maybe they were having a hiring lag so they made it a little easier on the driver now. Who knows!

Well, I was here and watching for my two food packages today. As soon as I heard the van outside (imagine that - he had no trouble coming up my drive!), I went out to meet him.
He was a very nice man and I asked him if he knew who the driver was for this route yesterday. He didn't, but asked if there was a problem. So I told him exactly what happened and showed him the photos. (I won't tell you what he said, when he saw them AND the fact that the guy put "Front Door" as the delivery location.)
I told him that the same thing happened on December 15th around the same time in the morning, so likely the same person. He made some notes and said he will talk to his local manager at the end of his shift. He also thanked me for the job of plowing that I do, making sure there's a wide space for them to turn around in! He said it was much appreciated.
I told him we rarely ever have a problem, so these two recent incidents were a surprise. And I thanked him for listening. He said he knows that they did away with the phone number for the local depot, so the customer can't get anyone there.
A much pleasanter interaction than what happened yesterday. And at least he could see that there was no reason that the driver yesterday couldn't come up to my front door. Hopefully, the message will get through.
Thank you all for your own experiences and points of view.

@FancyPhillyshopper - One last thing about notifying the retailers of a delivery problem.
I had a couple of packages from Sam's Club delivered a few days ago. And yesterday I got an email from Sam's Club asking me how the delivery went. They want to know, if it was on time, what condition, etc. They always send out a follow-up.
So some retailers do want to know how their packages are being delivered. Just a thought. After all, it's in their own best interest to make sure the customer is happy. Makes sense.

QVC gave me my money back on this shipment. I thought it would come by now, but it's been almost a month. I called QVC on December 12 in hopes that QVC could or would contact UPS. I was taken aback when CS said to call and let them know if I received the chocolates so they could charge me because of the way it was stated. IF the Lindt chocolates ever arrive, I plan to throw them away because it's been way too long.

My UPS driver/delivery person is wonderful! I'm trying to think of what I could give him as a token of my appreciation. A gift card I guess.

My absolute worst experience with UPS was several years ago. We had the worst driver with a terrible attitude or chip on his shoulder.
He came to my backdoor and knocked so hard it sounded like someone was trying to break in! He kept banging away. At the time, I was getting over the flu, and I wasn't going to open it to keep him from getting sick. He wouldn't stop, so I flung open the door and said just leave it! I told him I wasn't well, but he insisted that I needed to sign for it.
I coudn't believe when I opened the package. It was a small box that had cellphone screen protectors. Pieces of plastic. All that drama for that. Sheesh!!!

I had my first UPS messed up delivery yesterday. They left my package, which was a
37 lb box containing my Pop It Shelving Unit, at my neighbors front door. Had to get my son in law to go get it for me; too heavy for homeowner and myself to carry! First time I had an issue and of course it was something heavy to retrieve!
