Re: Lousy UPS Delivery Service

@Goodie2shoes - It's interesting, isn't it, how the different delivery services are in different areas?

I've had several deliveries this week via FedEx.  Brought right up to the door and left on the porch.

And, as I've already mentioned, this issue with UPS has only happened in this past month.  I'm sure it's a substitute or relief driver.  I was outside this morning.  I never saw a UPS van.

Re: Lousy UPS Delivery Service

@loriqvc - Thank you.  I'll definitely try that tomorrow.  I'm just wiped out tonight.

Honestly, I'm normally more tolerant of this kind of thing, but not when there's absolutely no good reason.  If I hadn't been out by early morning plowing my drive, I could have understood him not driving up to the door.

Once before (ages ago) a driver tried to say my drive wasn't plowed.  At that time I could actually call the local office and they made him come back.  I met him at the end of the drive and told him I'd seen the van fly by without even slowing down.  He had the grace to look shame-faced and say "Sorry".

Re: Lousy UPS Delivery Service

Same thing happened to me.  Packages left at the mailbox ( rural area, dirt road )  1/4 mile from house.  House and address at  the same location for 30 years and there never was a problem..  The problem started Thanksgiving eve and existed until several weeks into December.  It happened 6 times and I called 6 times, at times every day

Tel # 1-800-742-5877.  UPS Customer Service.

After the 6th time, a local agent called me direct and problem was fixed.

Just know, when you call their customer service, they do give an estimated wait time, I chose to have a call back and that works fine instead a d of being on hold.

Good luck

I agree!!! Ups has given me lousy service this year.  I have Lindt chocolates (Christmas in July TSV) sitting about 25 miles away.  They have been sitting there since December 12th.  I have never been notified by UPS that they were out for delivery.  It just says they have arrived at the distribution center.  There the chocolates sit!!!  I did get my money back for QVC.  But...I was told to call if they did arrive so I could be charged.  FedEx has become just as bad.  Things haven't been late, but the last 3 shipments have been in boxes crushed at least on part of the box.

I don't like going to the store anymore.  It is a terrible hassle.  I have enjoyed purchasing everything online.  Other places pack things more carefully.  I am always surprised by the large size of the boxes used from QVC.   Usually there isn't any packing inside to keep things from shifting around.  I guess I should be thankful more hasn't been damaged.

Re: Lousy UPS Delivery Service

@Zukie - I'm curious.  When you called that 1-800 number, did you get a call back from someone in this country?

I went online first and it gave me the option for someone to call me, which I took.  I got a call back about 10 minutes later, but it was from someone named Rahul in another country (I think somewhere like India because of the accent).

In December, when I used that 1-800 number, I got a woman named something like Nikita.  I haven't managed to get anyone here.

@Tuppermore - I'm not sure I'd want the chocolates, if they've been sitting somewhere in one of their distribution warehouses since December 12th!

I just canceled an auto-delivery order that was due to ship on the 11th, because I'm simply not prepared to go through any more of this hassle.

Everything will have to wait till spring.  Or never.

@Venezia @Call was definitely outsourced but the reps  certainly understood the irritation in my tone, after the 3rd time.  The local agent , who called me, was from the area.

I've just had two packages (food items) "delivered" by UPS today.  I don't know what's going on with them lately.  In the past they were okay.

In December, I had a package from Kohl's left in a snowbank by the side of the main road.  The lying driver said he left it at my "Front Door".  My house is 710 feet back from the road!  My front door is not in a snowbank.  (And, yes, I filed a complaint with Kohl's and also phoned UPS - not an easy task.)

I was assured it wouldn't happen again.

So today, I was checking my orders around 12:30 and was surprised to see that my Just Bagels had been delivered to my "Front Door" at 10:30.  We had snow overnight; only about 3 inches, but I plow my own driveway, so I went out first thing and plowed "just in case".  (I wasn't expecting them today.)

As soon as I realized there were no packages at my front door, I headed down my driveway.  Yep, there in a dirty snowbank were my Just Bagels! So the driver lied again!  This time, however, I had a camera with me and I took photos.

I've written a complaint to QVC, with photos and phoned UPS.  UPS CS is in somewhere like India and it was very difficult to understand the guy.  No way to send them photos.  He gave me a website, where I could post photos (didn't exist) and said thank you for the "feedback".  They will "investigate" so that it doesn't happen again.

Yeah, that's what they said in December.  Apparently, they have a driver who doesn't like to drive in even a half-inch of snow in the winter.  Either that or he's just plain lazy.  And a liar to boot.  (He's in the wrong job and wrong state!)

I also tried to email the UPS address I was given.  It just came back that the mailbox wasn't monitored.  Nice one!

I have two more orders coming tomorrow and then I think I'm done.  At least until spring.  Or summer.

Inexcusable. Rant over.

Does anyone know how to actually get photos to UPS?

Yeah, same thing here. I think they're just plain lazy. Amazon drivers take a picture of their delivery showing my front door. UPS needs to do this so we can get the goods on them.

Re: Lousy UPS Delivery Service

UPS works all day and late into the night. That's  how it is. It's our job to know the time. It's not UPS's job toi babysit anyone.

I have a MyChoice account on UPS.com and set up notifications to tell me when something is delivered as well as the expected timeframe.

However, I don't excuse a driver leaving a package in a snowbank at the curb.

I just had a package delivered by UPS an hour ago.  It was from QVC.  The driver rang my doorbell and when I said hello on the intercom he very politely said "Hi!  I'm from UPS and I have your package here at the front door".

This is pretty standard practice around here, I guess as it is the same style of delivery I always get from UPS.

USPS even leaves packages inside my hallway!

Amazon is great with their photo of the delivery location, and FedEx is my least favorite delivery service.  They often drop and run without even ringing the bell to let you know something came.

I'd fall over if a driver rang my bell and waited for me to answer unless I had to sign for the package.  UPS doesn't have any obligation to ring the bell or wait for us to answer the door.

On my MyChoice account on UPS.com, there is an option to to tell them where to deliver packages. I listed back door and that's where they deliver. I also receive a notice when something is delivered and they include a picture.
