I recently had two items come up as Advance Order and I wouldn't have known unless I looked at my order status.One was a Fall decorative item from Valerie and the other a Christmas one. I'd rather receive it later than not at all as try and order carefully.
However I have two items this week in the correct labeled bag but nothing close to what should be in the bag, One was an incorrect sized item and odd as no size label inside as cut out and the other a denim skirt I never ordered. To top it off I received an empty box smashed and the contents missing all taped up from HSN, not their fault but not fun dealing with the errors.

I've seen at times, especially on free ship days, you order it and it's then back ordered. It happened to me recently. It was lock and lock, so I cancelled and picked another color. It shipped quickly.

i placed a walmart delivery order around 2 am to be delivereded this morning between 7 and 9 am.
i received email at 6:15 stating 3 items were not available.
they showed available at 2 am. no one could have bought them since the store was closed. they still show available.
is the inventory incorrect. is the site incorrect. could the picker not find them. who knows. nothing is perfect.
one of the items is for a recipe i needed for a gift i am making today. i will make something else.
i'm not mad at walmart.

Twice now, I've had Philosophy Autoship order problems. These happened last year with Amazing Grace Bergamot & this past winter with my Living Grace. I received the letter a few weeks ago.
Both times, they were TSV perfume, lotion and body wash sets, ordered early in the day.
What bugs me is they cancelled both orders after I only received two shipments.
However, the EXACT SAME fragrance pack ups were/are being offered under a different item number. 😣

I've been around a long time and it happened to me twice in the last couple of months. The first item was a PLW Boheme skirt that was as is, when I ordered it showed in stock, then went to backorder and then the Q cancelled the order after 30 days because they couldn't get the item. Second time was last week, the day of the PTR TSV, I ordered midday the today only mask set, in stock, then went to backorder. I cancelled that one myself. So, OP you're not alone, its just one of those things that happens.

If this was the person's first order with QVC, I think their post was entirely appropriate. No drama, just letting the company know they lost a customer through their own incompetence.
Many of us that have been shopping with QVC for decades will put up with their delays and back orders. Others who are just now trying the company will not as there are many alternative shopping services elsewhere now.
QVC is a struggling retailer. This is customer feedback as to one of the reasons they may not be making any headway in gaining customers.

@cheriere I bet this happened because the item price went up and Philosophy can get more money for it now that what you paid.

I thought the exact same thing. It's just too big of a coincidence that twice this has happened with Philosophy TSV's. I'd been counting on one to give as a Christmas gift too.
I'd love to let them about it, but it wouldn't do any good.

Well, I think many of us are of the belief if a vendor and QVC offer Auto-Delivery on an item for a set price, and a set number of deliveries it should be honored. They made a commitment and should follow through even if it means they take a slight financial hit. A slight short term financial hit is better in the long run than a once loyal customer turning bitter.
You made the commitment, your word should be your bond. It's sad it's not viewed that way.
These are the little things that can permanently turn customers away, especially when it should be such an easy fix.
