First Time and Last Time Customer

I have had a few friends use QVC and enjoy the deals on clothing and accessories they get, so when I was shopping online for a new vacuum, and saw a good deal on the Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra, I went for it!

 

A week later I got the notification it was delivered. Much to my surprise when I saw the package it was clearly for the wrong item! Instead of my vacuum I received a Dyson fan! 

I call to tell them about the mistake and try to see if they can expedite the vacuum to me. No luck, they're totally sold out. No clue where the vacuum I purchased went, maybe they simply sold more than their stock, which, really crappy if so. Not only that but I have to send the fan back and wait several weeks for them to receive and inspect the product before I get a refund, all the while vacuumless and beginning to lose in the everlasting war against the dust bunnies.

 

Luckily I insisted on speaking to a superior and got them to refund me right away so I don't have to wait so long to buy a different vacuum locally but it would have sucked if I didn't advocate for myself to get that! I still now have to find time out of my busy work schedule to go to the post office and ship the incorrect goods back to them or my card will be charged for it. Sigh.

 

The only consolation I got was a sorry don't know how the mix up happened and that they'll mention the "mishap" to their vendor. Very much pushing all accountability onto them.


QVC is the one I took my business to! Not okay to engage in a business transaction and then just not provide the agreed upon goods last I checked. Very sad first experience with this company and will likely be my last.

I have had TWO brand new cars that were both LEMONS...

It was probably shipped directly from Dyson.  I have had this happen before with Walmart, guess what?  I still buy from Walmart, mistakes happen. 

 

I guess if its your first time using a company you would think this was indicative of their practices but I have never had a mistaken shipment from QVC.

@MickMack.  Just so you know, products like vacuum cleaners are shipped directly from the vendors so Dyson was the one who sent the wrong product.  Did you receive an invoice with a return shipping label?  If so, the USPS will pick it up from your location.  You go to their website and on the first page you can request a pick up free.

HSN sells them. I bought  a Dyson from them over 10 yrs ago.

Sad you had a bad first time experience but, as others have mentioned, stuff happens. I hope you can find another online retailer who satisfies your needs.

Everything happens for a reason. The Dyson vac you were waiting for bites! 

I bought it cuz a review said it was like dancing with Fred Astair...NOT. 

It is difficult on my hands to manuver. Sucking power is meh.

@MickMack @I also received a wrong item from Dyson. I called and got a return label emailed to me and it went back. Next day got a wrong item from Macys. Wrong pants, wrong color, wrong size. Called and got refund and return label. It happens and I don't waste my time being angry. I know there is a working human at the other end and mistakes happen.
