DEFECTIVE PRODUCT -- OR RIP OFF ?

After the rave reviews last year, I ordered the 19 oz Josie Maran Whipped Body Butter in Vanilla Bean ..... for a grand total of $60 with tax and shipping.

Well, there IS a problem ..... it doesn't smell like Vanilla Bean ... at all.   Is this a problem with quality control for QVC ...  or JM?

How do we NOT feel ripped off when a $60 jar of body butter smells pretty much ike the dollar store variety?

What is QVC's recommended solution for this?

Re: DEFECTIVE PRODUCT -- OR RIP OFF ?

I ordered this item last year and it was acceptable to me.  It had a light vanilla scent.  Sorry you aren't satisfied with the product but we all know this can happen ordering items without seeing, smelling or touching them.

just return the item.  How can that be a rip off?

Re: DEFECTIVE PRODUCT -- OR RIP OFF ?

Josie's body butter scents are always light, IMO and I've been buying it for many years.

I think the reason for a light scent is so that the body butter 'scent' doesn't clash with or overpower the wearer's preferred perfume choice.

Not everyone wants to smell like a vanilla cupcake all day, I know I don't anyway.

I think the answer is don't buy scented stuff before you smell it or get ready to mail it back if you don't like it.  It's sort of either or. . . Woman Wink

Well, because it doesn't have a light vanilla scent .... not at all.

if you order something scented, and it doesn't smell the least bit like it,  then there's a problem.

@Sooner

I agree and Josie usually offers an 'unscented' version in her body butters, which is what I order.

I love her body butter for the moisturizing benefit, not the scent, but that's just me.

Honestly, I get  your point, but I happen to be a huge fan of vanilla, so I had higher expectations for this product ...  some thing beyond just a moisturizing product.

@Tinkrbl44  I love vanilla too, but good grief today many things that say they are "vanilla" scented are simply horrible!  It is rare to find a good product!  I have just avoided most of othem for a long time.
