I know this happened to a lot of you on here, so I’m asking this question. I ordered the tsv halo without the solar panels at the tsv price. Then the one with the solar panels became available again at the higher price, so I ordered it and I cancelled my original order. Now it says the one I ordered with the panels are on backorder today. Has anyone ever received the item in question after it goes on backorder? I’m just a little annoyed over it all. So now I’m in a conundrum, do I bite the bullet and buy the halo again w/o the panels at the higher price, or hope my second one goes out of backorder and sent to me?

Yes, backorder usually just means it's part of their inventory, just not received yet. Sometimes if they know when it's due to arrive it will be just a matter of days and they mention it when on air.

If it were me, and for some reason the item with solar panels does not become available, I would then contact the social team and request the non panel unit at the TSV price.

@Poohbear52 - I agree with @Etoile308; the "backorder" status is applied when the Q has inventory either en route or at a warehouse (whether theirs or a vendor's) awaiting processing and expects to be able to fulfill orders as requested, just with a slight delay. During all my years shopping at QVC, I've received every item that went into this status. I hope things work out well and quickly for you. Good luck!

I would not cancel and reorder. 

Do you need it by a specific time?

If not, just wait it out it will come.  It may take longer than you have imagined though.i did have a Valerie Parr Hill holiday item go into backorder once and then it was eventually canceled.by QVC.  Im thinking the cargo got lost at sea (happens) but holiday decor are one-offs, not something that is produced and sold year-round like your item. 

I ordered the Halo Ultimate 3.0 ( not what you ordered) on 11/30/24. I ordered the Green one, and the Blue one for Christmas presents and received them in just a few days.

At the same time as the other two, I had ordered the Maroon one for myself but knew it was waitlisted but it was for me so that was ok. I just got it last Thursday 1/9/25. That took a lot longer than I thought it would but i had no need for a specific time to arrive so I remained patient.

I realize ordering a waitlisted item ( knowingly) and backorders (are unexpected)  are slightly two different situations. If you dont have a deadline ( gift or current need deadlines) id wait it out.

I would order from another company, if you can find it.  I doubt Q is the only company that sells it.

LizzieInSRQ. I don’t need it at a specific time, just was worried it would eventually get cancelled on me. That’s why I was curious on what everyone else’s experience is with backorders and if I’m just overthinking this and it will eventually get to me. It’s not like I need it right now, it’s mostly for my peace of mind. I’ve done without one for quite a while, what’s a little longer, right? Sunshine Kate, I have looked into buying from another website and if I wanted the halo specifically, it’s 2100.00 for the exact same one as the tsv and the panels are 300.00. Not sure about shipping. This is on halos website. Amazon, Lowe’s and Home Depot have others and the ecoflow. Halo didn’t come up. Thank you both for answers, I really do appreciate them.

I have backordered items that I ordered late like you that have never arrived.  They call them backorder but they are really a waitlist.  But unless you are pressed for it I wouldn't rush the order the other one at the regular price.  The Halo TSVs seem to repeat themselves.  And there are other similar products on the market at various prices.  I would look around.  And to the best of my recollection, the Halo products are not that highly rated.  I had 2 that went bust (cheaper ones, around $100), and thought about ordering another one, and saw tons of bad reviews of other customers with the same problem.  So I passed.  I later saw that Amazon carries many similar products that are highly rated, so I shopped there.  The other thing I noticed is that these products are getting better fast.  So waiting, you may get a better product at the same price.  I would shop around, though QVC does make these items look so good, I am tempted to buy them.  We rarely lose power, so I just sit on my hands.

But if you need it, get it.  But I would shop around.
