Hi! I purchased the Halo Bolt Ultimate 3.0 on Nov 30th, 2024, when it was the "Today's Special Value".  I received it today and went on-line to register it.  I was very surprised to read on Halo's web site that this device is only warranted for 90 days, after purchase!  I don't remember this little(?) detail being mentioned when it was aired on QVC. So, if you bought this device, thinking you woud be covered if your car would need jumped, and that doesn't happen within  90 days, it sounds like you are out of luck or at the mercy of the Halo Company.

I don't think that would be helpful, if you were stranded somewhere and it didn't work! I just think on something this costly, you would get, at least, a one year warranty!

@Desertdi  I think she's saying that if you don't find a reason to use it before 90 days you wouldn't know if it was defective.

You can at least test all the other stuff out and I'd guess you can even test the battery part out by putting it on and getting a reading from your battery.

I don't really know much about these things.    Years ago, I bought "something" that was advertised as "emergency power" in case of a dead battery....and what I received was a WHOLE CAR BATTERY.

It was too big and heavy to return it, and I gave it to my handyman.

I live in town...and have AAA who gets here in 10 minutes anyway...so I wrote-off the whole idea of "self help"...      di

What I like about mine is to be able to plug a lamp into it when the power goes out.

Re: Halo Bolt Ultimate 3.0

[ Edited ]

I finally received mine a few days ago.  I know it was a return by the way things were packaged but everything is there.

I charged it up to 100% then charged my MacBook just to test it.  The Halo ran out of power before it completrely charged my MacBook.

Then after charging it to 100% again I charged my iPhone - it handled that quickly and didn't use a lot of its power.

I dunno if I should keep this or not.  If it works as it should it'll be a very handy device to have especially if I have to charge my battery.

Along with the short warranty the instructions also say to not keep it in the car in extreme weather conditions.  Duh.  That's generally when you're going to have a dead battery - when it's extremely cold.

I have another power bank that I've had for a few years   And multiple smaller Halo and other brand phone chargers.

This Bolt 3.0 is too expensive if all I can use it for is a phone charger, light,  and AC outlet.

But no way to know if it'll work to charge my car.  Or fill tires.  Yet.

Now the next day after not using it after charigng my iPhone  it's already down to 26%.  It's going back.
